It may be a little early to hope for brighter, lighter weather… but frankly, we need something to pin our hopes on! Let’s hope that there’s more sunshine on its way to lift our spirits. And in the meantime, we hope that Knit Now is bringing you a little bit of joy in these tough times.
We’re certainly thinking of you all; we know how our readers love cable work, so we’ve rustled up plenty of textured knits for this issue. From our stunning cover garment (page 20) and our Spring Rye lace stole (page 48), to the gorgeous baby cardigan from Quail Studio (page 42) there should be plenty for you to get your teeth into. We’ve also found some cable pattern picks to inspire you – turn to page 46. If colourwork is more your thing, there’s a knockout mitts and beret set to carry you through to spring (page 30), and some spirit-lifting socks on page 63. Fancy a smaller project? Perhaps the RSPB kingfisher cosy (page 15) or the Lily Floral Wreath (page 80) are the patterns for you.
If the weather doesn’t pick up, you’re going to need plenty of great reads – and we have some lovely pieces in this issue. Find out how a pop star made a knitting pattern go viral on page 25, meet sock-knitting extraordinaires The Knitmore Girls on page 88 – and turn to page 73 to read a heart-warming tale of how childhood storytelling inspired a life-long love of knitting.
