Support Ukrainian Designers
With our friends in Ukraine experiencing such a terrible time, we wanted to show our support for the incredible designers who call this beautiful country home
Kathleen Sperling has rounded up some wonderful patterns from designers based in Ukraine. Why not show your support for these talented members of our crafting community by buying one or two of their designs?
At the time of writing, Ukrainian designers are still able to receive PayPal payments for purchases through Etsy. Not only will this help them financially, but it's also a lovely way to send a small message of support.
We also encourage you to consider supporting the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Svetlana Hurova designs the most amazing crocheted toys! With delightfully expressive eyebrows! Here's an example of her unicorn toy, 'Little unicorn'.
Anna Kibalchich-Poda designs knitted doll clothes which are amazingly detailed despite their small size! Pictured is her '5 bears jumper'.
Anna Meier grabbed me with her seriously beautiful crochet patterns for neckwarmers, but she does lots of other stuff too. Pictured is her 'Frozen Beauty Neckwarmer'.
Victoria Chaplina likes to play with big chunky cables in her knitted garments and accessories, such as her 'Misty Knee High Socks'.
I was struck by Olena Palamarenko's geometric designs. She does a lot of crocheted home decor patterns, as well as wearable accessories. Pictured is her Comet Infinity Scarf.
Tkachenko Tetiana is a knitwear designer who creates very sweet yoked sweaters for babies and children, such as the penguin sweater pictured here.
Julia Matiienko's crocheted toy patterns are so cute, I can't even. Just look at this Leprechaun Gnome pattern!
What got me to notice Inna Martynova's knitted designs was her lovely use of texture, as you can see in her Primrose Cardigan.
Natalie Pelikh's design focus is beautiful little crocheted purses, such as her 'Round purse' pattern pictured here.
Knitwear designer Tatiana Chystiakova has a STUNNING aesthetic. Just look at her 'In the land of magnolias' skirt! Her website says that you can contact her via email to arrange a purchase from her directly.
