Wow! When we asked crafters to help out the hard working midwives at St Mary's Maternity Unit, we did not expect such an incredible response!

In August, we asked CraftWorld super knitters to send in baby items to help keep the babies as warm as possible. Read about this appeal here: https://craftworld.com/cms/baby-hat-appeal/

The staff at this fantastic maternity unit have been overwhelmed with your lovingly crafted knits. A wave of love and support has been streaming to the lovely mother and  babies born on the unit featuring some of the most beautifully knitted hats we have ever seen!

But it is not only hats that have been flooding in. Kind hearted knitters have also been submitting cardigans, booties, mitten, booties, blankets and handy knitted squares ideal for helping mother and baby bonding. This pile of super-soft knits will make such a huge difference to the ward.

Annie Guthrie from the unit said

"Thankyou so much to everyone who has so kindly knitted something for us. We want to pass on a huge thankyou from St Marys.

The response has been amazing and we are so shocked by how generous the Craftworld community has been.

We have received an amazing amount of baby hats which are so important for keeping our newborns toasty at birth. We have also had donations of bonding squares, mittens, blankets and socks which will all be so useful for helping out families who are in need. "

Thank you!
