If you ask me, Christmas is the perfect time to pick up your knitting needles and crochet hooks and get creative with gifts, decorations, or just something special for yourself. Which is why it’s my favourite time of year to put together a collection of must-make patterns just for you!

There’s no better place to start than with the stars of this issue – Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Woodstock from Peanuts! Knit or crochet this iconic trio, along with a smart Christmas tree and mini candy cane decoration to really level-up your Christmas table this year. I also can’t help but smile every time I look at the Rudolph the Reindeer Mitts (page 36) – I was going to make these as a gift for a family friend, but I think I might have to make several pairs so I can keep some to myself.

If you want to learn some new crochet stitches, then the Treats & Trinkets Baby Blanket (page 58) is a great place to start – you can make the whole pattern with just your kit and practice new, textured stitches too. Or why not test the waters of knitted colourwork with the super-cute Chevron hats (page 26) or some fabulous Scandi-inspired baubles (page 32)?

Give a little back this year by getting involved with our charity campaign to knit little Christmas puddings to raise money for Together Trust (page 20); knit or crochet your pudding, send it into Together Trust, who will then sell it on to raise money for vulnerable young people and carers who might be struggling this Christmas. Any not sold will be given as gifts to those the charity look after!
