Some time ago I've watched YouTube tutorial, where one very talented crafter was making canvas without using any mixed media supplies. This made me rethink my approach and I've decided to make my very first canvas then. That was one of my best decisions I've made. Since I've started my journey with mixed media I managed to build my mixed media supplies a little bit, however from time to time I like to challenge myself and made some project using limited supplies. Here is a project I've made recently using only my cardmaking supplies.

Love the way it turned out!
1

adding texture to the bacground

Wrap the string few times around the canvas, then use a brush to paint the whole area with PVA glue, add a few pieces of napkin and leave it to dry

2

adding colour and interest to the canvas

Use peackock feathers distress ink to add colour to the canvas, then use a vintage photo one to enhance the edges. Once is dry, stamp partially the background stamp here and there using the embossing ink. Sprinkle gold embossing powder and use the heating tool to set the powder.

3

creating focal point

Stamp the butterfly with white embossing powder and use some orange ink to colour it. Add gold embossing powder to the wings. Distress the edges of the butterfly wings and add vintage photo ink.

4

working on the leaves

Cut a few green leaves, darken up the edges with a green ink. Take a little sponge and add a bit of embossing ink and sprinkle with gold embossing powder. Use heating tool to melt the powder.

5

creating sentiment

Stamp a sentiment on three pieces of the black cardstock using an embossing ink and white embossing powder. Cut to a desired shape. Take each of those little sentiments and smear embossing ink on its edges, dip in gold embossing powder and set with heating tool.

6

attaching all the elements

Use a hot glue gun to attach all elements. You can use few bits of foam tape to raise the sentiment
