Step-by-step Guide to Picking Up Dropped Stitches in Knitting
The simplest way to save a dropped stitch is with a crochet hook. Choose a hook the same size or slightly smaller than your knitting needle.
Step 1: With knit side facing, insert a crochet hook into the dropped stitch at the bottom of the ladder.
Step 2: Catch the lowest strand of the ladder and pull it through the loop on the hook, from back to front.
Step 3: Repeat step 2 for each rung of the ladder until all stitches have been reworked.
Return stitch to LH needle.
