Do you love layering stencils but struggle to line up the layers correctly? What if we told you that you can make your crafting time less frustrating and more enjoyable and efficient. We’ve had the pleasure of testing the Stencil & Stamp Tool by Sizzix and am sharing our tips and findings.
Sizzix has come up with this amazing tool and when combined with their range of stencils and stamps you can create a whole bunch of beautiful projects in no time.
How does it work?
The base of the Stencil & Stamp Tool comprises of a sturdy black foam to provide a non-slip surface, meaning you can place the tool on your craft desk and it won’t be sliding around as you’re working with it. The clear gridded plate very conveniently detaches from the base. You can use this to mount your clear stamps on and stamp with. The grid can be very helpful, especially when stamping sentiments, making sure they are straight each time.
The tool will come with one Sticky Grid Sheet that you can adhere inside the platform. The sheet is low-tack, meaning it is sticky enough to hold your cardstock in place, but not too sticky to damage the paper surface when peeled off. No need for annoying strips of Washi tape when stencilling or stamping!
What makes it a must-have?
This tool does it all for you without any waste. The Sticky Grid Sheet can be used over and over until it looses its tack. Sizzix got you covered though, as you can purchase a set of five Sticky Grid Sheets and replace as needed.
The tool also comes with a handy Stencil Adapter. The adapter comprises of two small holes on top, rectangular grooves and two small pegs on the bottom. The two little holes can be used to attach the adapter to the tool before storing it, the rectangular grooves can be used to keep the adapter in place in a desired position when stencilling and the two little pegs are what holds your Layered Stencil by Sizzix in place, preventing the stencil from shifting whilst working with it.
You can remove the Stencil Adapter and replace it with the Clear Gridded Plate and continue working on your project by stamping on top of your stencilled design or on a separate piece of cardstock. When done, you can close the door and store your platform safely for the next craft session.
Is it Value for Money?
What we love about this tool is that it enables a seamless workflow, which makes your craft time enjoyable and efficient. Batch-making projects has never been easier! Just imagine how many cards you could make in one session.
Sizzix also released a whole bunch of stunning Layered Stamp sets and Layered Stencils, which are designed to work with the Stencil & Stamp Tool. This doesn’t mean that you are limited to using these products. You can use any existing stamps and stencils from your craft stash with this tool and create an array of gorgeous projects that will bring a smile to someone’s face. We hope you give this tool a go as it will undoubtedly bring joy to your crafting sessions.
Stay creative and do share your project with us! We love to see what you create!
