Sentiment Backgrounds Masterclass

Sentiment stamps aren’t just for adding greetings to your cards, you can use them to decorate your designs too! There are lots of different ways you can use sentiment stamps to make fun and interesting backgrounds, and I have some ideas and examples here to get you started.

You can use them to completely cover a background or to add random texture to parts of the backgrounds. You can also use them with image stamps to add interesting patterns and effects. If you have sentiments of different sizes, shapes and styles, you can always mix and match them too.

All of your sentiment background stamping can be done with an ordinary acrylic block. If you do have a stamping tool like the My Sweet Petunia MISTI tool, it makes quick work of this technique, plus you can restamp over any missed stamping. It also makes it easier to stamp multiples if you are bulking up your sentiment stamp backgrounds.

This is a great technique to use for all your sentiment stamps but don’t forget those small accessory sentiments you get in an image stamp set. Put a few of those together and you have a whole range of new designs to make!
