Simply Cards & Papercraft 223 - On sale NOW!
We are delighted to announce that issue 223 of Simply Cards & Papercraft is now on sale!
The weather has definitely taken a more autumnal turn, and for me – that 100% means it’s nearly Christmas, and I should be buckling down in my craft room by now creating my family and friend’s festive cards, but I’m yet to start! So this issue’s Scenic Christmas stamp and stencil set is perfectly timed. I’m just brimming with ideas for using this set, but if I was suffering a crafting block – the amazing cards made by my Design Team would inspire me in no time!
First up, we’ve got a striking selection of stencilled creations from Nicky Gilburt on page 9 – where she focuses on finding inventive ways to use it. Next up, on page 34 we’ve turned to Donna Gray to showcase how you can add texture to your designs. Last but by no means least, we’ve got creations from Jane Gundry – she’s built up scenic images perfectly using the stamp and stencil.
We’ve also got a range of skill-boosting techniques to help you master new skills – with a guide to negative die-cutting on page 59, as well as expertly guiding you through faux free-motion stitching on page 92. We’ve even got a masterclass focussing on the trapped-ink technique from Christine Smith on page 50.
Don’t worry, we’re ticking off on-trend products too – turn to page 48 to find mixed-media styled stamps from Visible Image, as well as an amazing showcase of Sara Signature Watercolour Collection from Crafter’s Companion (page 84). You can take a closer look at the Julie Hickey Designs floral releases on page 42. The focus of our Tried & Tested feature this issue is Brother’s ScanNCut SDX2200D machine range – where we asked Mel Jess to experiment to demonstrate a plethora of projects to help discover exactly what we can achieve.
Whether it’s festive or everyday you’re after, we’ve got a ton of inspiration that is bound to get you crafting right away. With all of this, plus the usual competitions, news, shopping and giveaways plus readers’ letters and cards, I think I’ll leave you to it.
