Reach For The Stars Galaxy Card
Create the galaxy background.
Trim the panel to 9x12cm, cover using an anti-static tool and use a clear embossing marker to draw on a crescent moon. Stamp the stars using VersaMark ink and heat-emboss the entire image in white as shown.
Use the embossing marker to draw narrow lines attaching the stars to the moon, then use VersaMark ink to stamp the sentiment and heat-emboss both in white as shown.
Decorate the design using silver star confetti and Nuvo Crystal Drops.
Layer the panel onto a slightly larger piece of white cardstock and adhere to the card front using 3D foam pads.
Use a white gel pen to draw faux-stitching around the edge of the panel as shown to finish.
Create a galaxy background using Distress Oxide Ink. Select purple, pink and blue shades of Distress Ink to create the initial layer for the background.
Squash each inkpad onto a glass mat, add water and use as a paint to create a galaxy background. Use a paintbrush to apply the colour in bands, for lighter and dark channels.
Once the first layer is dry, use an ink-blending tool to apply deep blue Distress Oxide Ink and Black Soot Distress Ink. Apply more ink in some areas for a darker look as shown.
Tap a little water using a small brush and leave to dry. Repeat using Nuvo Aqua Shimmer for added sparkle and leave to dry.
For more prominent stars, flick watered-down white gesso onto the panel as shown. Leave to dry for 48 hours so the heat-embossing process will give a crisp finish.
