Quirky Notebook With Falling Autumn Leaves

1

Remove the covers from the notebook and paint them with gold acrylic. Replace when dry.

2

Cut a 12x20cm panel of pink cardstock and emboss it with leaves. Place the embossing folder in one corner of the panel and emboss. Then place the panel in the diagonally opposite corner and emboss. This should leave two plain strips in the remaining corners.

3

Turn the embossed panel over so that the negative side of the embossing is showing. Lightly run over the surface of the cardstock with a purple inkpad. This will colour the background of the cardstock and highlight the embossing. When dry matt this to red cardstock and stick it to the front of the notebook.

4

Stick narrow strips of green cardstock to create panels on the embossed cardstock. Stick die-cut leaves in the blank areas.

5

Cut a length of ribbon with one straight end and one pointed end. This should overlap by approximately 8cm when wrapped around the notebook. Apply glue to the ends of the ribbon to prevent them from fraying.

6

Once dry, fix a buckle to the straight end using one of the brads provided in the pack. Stick 4cm of this end of the ribbon, including the back of the brad, to the front of the notebook next to the strips of green cardstock.

7

Wrap the ribbon around the notebook and mark the point where the hole for the buckle needs to be made. Punch a hole and fix and eyelet in place to finish.
