As it was my first experience of using Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Polish I tried the polish onto different medium using different  techniques and materials.

Trial and error using the product on different materials.

I personally thought it would react better onto the darker products, so tried black, purple, pink and white papers and foam.(It didn't react very well on the foam. I had thought about using it for edging foam flowers). The polish did react very well on the darker colours creating an exciting and different pink and blue shimmer as you moved the papers.

So I wanted to see what would happen using different tools and techniques to create an effect, this time on vellum (I like using vellum on my cards)  I tried a paint brush, a small spatula and my finger, I love getting messy.

Loved the effect on the vellum.

Each one gave a different effect so you could use it for different projects-as I later chose to do on my card for posting. I even smeared onto card, dried and embossed the sentiment onto the top. Loved it. Creating a a glittery type of paper that I usually find is difficult to emboss onto the top.

On Youtube I have previously seen videos and posts of similar products by Cosmic shimmer- the pastes with it's own sponge/dabber in the lid. They look interesting and perhaps worth a try.

To be totally honest, Yes the product does give a beautiful sheen and creates an exciting image but the amount within the jar is small 7g and I feel a little expensive at £4.99 per jar. Would I personally invest in more for myself- perhaps if I was making an extra special card. Ok I went to town on my own card using 3 different methods-stencilling using the sponge for the background.

Stencilled using Tim Holtz sponge. Used the spatula to place glaze onto the mat.

A paintbrush to stipple the flowers. Even smearing with my finger to create a background for my sentiment, embossing powder white onto the top. Mmmmm it was a great effect though.

This angle gives more of a blue effect.
This angle gives more of a pink tinge.

So totally undecided I'll leave it for you to see my images and decide.  Love Lynne xxx
