This headband consists of a long, flat strip knitted lengthways and features a cheery and colourful Fair Isle pattern worked from the chart in stranded colourwork. It’s knitted in five pretty shades of Scheepjes Terrazzo, a yarn that contains a mix of wool and viscose, making it perfect for wearing in every season. The twist is created by the method used to join the cast-on and cast-off ends.

Start knitting...

With A, cast on 23 sts.
Joining colours as needed, work chart 4 times in full.
Break all yarns except A.
Starting with a k row, work 3 rows in St st.
Cast off, leaving a long tail.

Finishing
Weave in all ends and block to measurements given in schematic. Fold band in half lengthwise with RS facing and then widthwise so that cast-on and cast-off ends are aligned.
Turn one end 180° and slot the folded edges together, alternating them, to create a piece four layers thick. Going back and forth from one side to the other, stitch together all four
layers securely. Turn RS out.
