Pink Ink Stamping

I adore this 'A Stitch in Time' stamp set from Pink Ink Designs, as I have an obsession with vintage machines. Sewing machines, typewriters, cameras, you name it and I probably collect them! But to have stamp sets with these beautiful items on, prettied up wih florals and foliage really is a crafter's dream come true!

To create this simple stamping effect, all you need is some blending inks (my personal favourites are Distress Inks found here

  1. Firstly, I stamped the sewing machine in VersaFine Ink onto white paper. This doesnt need to be very thick. I then cut around the image, leaving out the swirls and fiddly areas.
  2. Next I laid this 'mask' onto my cardstock and started blending colour around the edges of it using brush belnding tools. I chose to use four different blues and greens. I held the mask in place, but you could use a little repositionable spray if you prefer.

3. Once you have gone around all the edges, remove the mask and stamp the sewing machine again, into the white space left behind. This will add the detail back into the image.

4. From here I simply did a litttle more ink blending around the edges, and added some distressed stamping into the background. Dont forget you now also have a pretty coloured sewing machine cut out you can use on anoter project!

So here is the finished card. I will be soon putting up a full video tutorial on my YouTube channel and will post that here on CraftWorld too :-)
