Foils are a great way to add detail to your cards, but using the heat method can be expensive, so finding ways to add foil details to your cards without heat is a great idea. There are many ways you can add foil details to your cards without using any heat.

You will need...

1

Double-sided tape strips

Double sided adhesive tape is an easy way to add foil detail to cards. Simply add strips of tape to your card, remove the backing from the tape and then firmly press the foil into the tape to transfer the foil to the sticky tape.

2

Die-cut windows

Using a die cut window with a piece of foil glued to the card behind. You don’t have to have a lot of different foils either as you can colour the foils with alcohol markers and get some lovely results. It is best to use darker colours when doing this.

3

Die-cut foiled shapes

Use your existing dies to die cut foiled shapes! Use an adhesive sheet such as Stick It adhesive sheets, adhered to the card to be die cut. Then place the foil on top of the sticky adhesive. Finally, without removing the plastic backing, die-cut whichever shape you desire to from the foil.

4

Glue dot details

You can also add foil details with something as simple as a quickie glue pen! Aimply add dots with the pen to your project, then when the glue goes from blue to clear, gently press the foil onto the dots to transfer the foil.

Once you have mastered all of these you can then have loads of fun combining the techniques you have learned on your projects.

This is a really fun, inexpensive way to add foil details to your cards, so grab some foil and search your stash to see what you can create with.
