Moroccan Style Fabrics and Patterns
In this months home section of Love Sewing, make these gorgeous Moroccan-style floor cushions and picnic set using Lewis and Irene's beautiful Marrakech range of fabric.
Debbie Shore who created the floor cushion pattern for Issue 3 says These cushion pads can be made in any size and they are perfect for garden furniture to fit your chairs, and you could add a couple of ribbons to tie them on if you like. As the buttons go straight through the centre, there are no zips to fit, and you'll find it easier to sew through a hollowfibre cushion pad. I've used two buttons for each cushion, strong thread and a long needle.
You will also find the pattern from Debbie to sew up these pretty place mats in Issue 3.
The fabrics available in the Marrakech range from Lewis and Irene are perfect for a garden set, with the weather we've been having recently in the UK it feels like we could be in North Africa! We had best make the most of it!
Shaded from the sun by a lemon tree in the courtyard of a Moroccan riad. Sat by a cool fountain sipping minted tea surrounded by the beautiful colours and patterns of the tiles.
We love the inspiration for this range of fabrics - Over on the Lewis and Irene site they also have some fabulous free patterns and instructions to make Moroccan inspired quilts - we love this one - it would be perfect as a picnic rug!
