Heart Card In Silver & Lemon For Wedding, Anniversary Or Engagement
Create with die-cutting, layers, mixed media and stamping
Apply a small amount of Weathered Wood Distress Paint onto a non-stick craft sheet, roll the brayer through the paint, remove any excess paint, and roll over a 11.4x16.5cm panel of white cardstock. Repeat with Squeezed Lemonade paint.
Die-cut one of each heart from mountboard. Apply Squeezed Lemonade Distress Paint to the largest heart and then a light layer of Weathered Wood paint.
Cover the medium heart with a layer of Weathered Wood and a light layer of Squeezed Lemonade. Apply Texture Paste through the stencil onto the smallest heart using a palette knife. Remove the stencil and allow the paste to dry completely.
Layer the stencil over the panel from Step 1 and apply an uneven layer of texture paste over the stencil. Remove the stencil and repeat the same process to add random stenciling around the card. Allow the paste to dry completely.
Cover the small die-cut heart with a layer of Weathered Wood Distress Paint, applying the paint with a piece of Cut-n-Dry Foam. Dry the layer of paint with a Heat Tool.
Once the first layer of paint is dry on the die-cut heart, apply a thin layer of Squeezed Lemonade Distress Paint to the top. Dry this layer of paint very lightly.
Take a piece of kitchen towel and spritz the towel lightly with water and then rub lightly over the raised areas. This will remove some of the paint from the raised areas and give a vintage feel to the heart.
To highlight the texture further apply a layer of wax using a finger. This gives a lovely touch of shimmer to the design.
Layer each of the hearts one on top of the other, adding cotton threads behind for added texture. Layering the hearts gives wonderful dimension to the card.
Apply a layer of the wax to the stenciled areas on the background of the card.
Ink the sentiment with Watering Can Archival Ink and then stamp onto a piece of white card. Apply a light layer of Squeezed Lemonade Distress Paint to the cutout sentiment and then dry the paint with a heat tool.
Ink the edges of the sentiment using Weathered Wood paint and adhere to the card front, bending as shown to add dimension. Finish with Nuvo Crystal Drops as shown, affix the panel to the card front, leaving narrow border to finish.
