Life begins at 40 - an eye-catching shaped card for a special birthday

1

Die-cut two 10.5cm-diameter circles from white cardstock. Score one of the circles at 1cm from the top edge, then stick the other circle on top of the score line. Trim away a small amount from the lower edge of the circle to stand the card up.

2

Create a smaller circle of gold cardstock, layer onto a slightly larger scalloped black circle then adhere to the card base.

3

Using white ink, stamp the frame onto black cardstock, cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out and affix to the centre of the card front with foam pads.

4

Stamp the frame onto white cardstock using black ink and snip out the inner frame. Add ‘life begins at’ in black ink then stamp ‘40’ in white ink near to the centre. Cover with gold embossing powder, heat set and attach to the card front.

5

Stamp and white emboss a flower onto gold cardstock, cut out and add a gem to the centre. Place two black punched leaves underneath the flower then adhere as shown.
