Hold your yarn to the front of your work. Insert your right-hand needle into the next stitch on the left-hand needle, from right to left.

Wrap the working yarn around the tip of your right-hand needle. When I work this stitch it feels like a clockwise motion, so if you hold your yarn and needles the same as I do, you might find that a useful thing to pay attention to.

Just the same as you do for the knit stitch, pull the loop through. Hold the working yarn to keep your tension.

Drop the stitch off of the left-hand needle. You've completed the purl stitch!
