KNITTING TUTORIAL: Simple embroidery
1
Cut a piece of thread or yarn about 20-30cm long and thread onto a tapestry needle of a suitable size for yarn/thread. On wrong side (WS) of work anchor yarn by running across work for 2cm, being careful not to go through to the front on your work.
2
Bring out yarn to right side (RS) at point A and insert at point B.
3
Take yarn to WS of work and bring out to RS at point C, slightly overlapping and emerging above first stitch.
4
Work stitches in one movement by inserting yarn at point D and bringing out at point E, slightly overlapping and emerging above second stitch. Repeat until desired elements have been completed. For elements that are more than a few stitches apart, fasten off yarn at WS and restart in new location.
