KNITTING TUTORIAL: I-cord cast off
Add a neat tube of knitting to finish the edges of your work professionally with this simple I-cord cast off.

After completing the final row or round, with the work on the left-hand (LH) needle, cast on 3 stitches to the LH needle (if you are knitting flat turn the work).

Knit the first two cast-on stitches then work an ssk by slipping the final cast on stitch and picking up and slipping the next stitch from the body of the knitting, then knitting into the back of both stitches (3 stitches on right-hand (RH) needle).

Do not turn the work (whether working flat or in the round). Slip the 3 stitches on the RH needle back to the LH needle.

Repeat steps 2-3 until all stitches have been cast off (3 stitches on RH needle).

To finish, break off the yarn leaving a 20cm tail for sewing in. Thread the end through the remaining stitches and pull tight to fasten.

To join the two ends, slip the cast off end inside the cast on end and stitch in place neatly to secure the ends.
