Here's a step-by-step photo tutorial for my favourite way to work a right-leaning decrease

Slip
Slip one stitch knit-wise from the right-hand to the left-hand needle.

Slip again
Slip the next stitch purl-wise
3
knit (two together)
Finally, knit these two stitches together.
Try It Out!
Neat shaping is key to any pattern where the line of decreases is very obvious, such as in appliqué patterns, lace stitches and seamless garments. Here are some of our favourites:
