Knit + Wear box review!

Knit + Wear is a subscription box created by the folk at Quail Studio using Rowan yarns. The brand creates quality patterns in a range of sizes suitable for different skill levels. While Knit + Wear is a new brand, it benefits from the established experience of Quail Studio and the trusted reputation of Rowan yarns.

About the box

Knitters can choose between a one-off subscription, where you receive just one box, or a quarterly subscription, where you receive a box every three months. On the website, www.knitandwear.co, you can choose one of four patterns in a range of colours, and you choose either size XS-S-M or L-XL-XXL. Then, the team sends you a lovely box filled with luxurious Rowan yarn and the pattern to make your selected item!

What's in the box?

The box arrived well packaged in an outer parcel, so nothing was damaged. Opening the box, you’re greeted by a package full of gorgeous Rowan yarn! There’s also the pattern to knit your item, a cute branded project bag and even a Knit + Wear tag to attach to your finished item! We received a box for the Heath cardigan, so our package contained 12 balls of Rowan Alpaca Soft DK. The main body of the pattern is stocking stitch, with alternating rib going into raglan shaping, so it’s perfect for stretching your skills. The website shows each pattern in clear detail, so it’s easy to pick a project suitable for your skill level.

Box themes

Each box has a different theme – we received a box from the Cardigan collection; the next box is the Accessory collection, featuring a choice of hats and scarves using Rowan Alpaca Classic and Rowan Kid Classic. Box 3, launching in February 2023 gives you four jumpers to choose between, with a variety of designs.

Our thoughts

Subscriptions start from £70, so this is a really nice, luxurious treat for yourself or as a gift. These kits offer a saving on buying the yarn separately, and the whole box together feels really premium with little elements like the Knit + Wear sew-in label really adding the finishing touch!

It’s great that you can choose to subscribe or purchase a one-off box – so if you love knitting cardigans but aren’t so keen on accessories, for example, you can pick and choose the ones you want and you’re not tied in to knitting something you don’t like.

This is a great subscription box that’s a real treat and the subscription options allow great flexibility to suit you!
