Knit with Call the Midwife
At Knit Now, we love watching Call the Midwife on TV and are always thrilled to spot all the knitted pieces featured! We took a look through our archive to find our best Call the Midwife-inspired patterns
Alannah Cardigan
The midwives in the show all wear classic red cardigans and this Alannah pattern is the perfect match. You could knit this to match the characters or try any colour of suitable aran yarn you’ve got in your stash! This pattern is available in sizes XS-5X, so it’s really easy to size up or down to suit anyone.
Time Out Cardigan
Doctor Turner loves to wear a comfy cardigan when he’s not seeing patients – this pattern from our archive is perfect for relaxing in and can be knitted in whatever colour you want. Here, it’s knitted in a variegated yarn from King Cole, but that can easily be swapped for a solid shade. There’s minimal shaping too, so the cardigan can be knitted for any member of the family!
Danielle Jumper
This jumper is a great basic piece, seen here on student doctor Timothy. Our pattern offers a v-neck option, as well as a round-neck version to match Timothy’s. Again, you can pick your own colour for this garment and it’s suitable for all genders as there’s no shaping. The ribbed hem and cuffs perfectly finish off the jumper.
