Interlocking Gatefold Cards Video Tutorial

What is a Gatefold Card?

Put simply, a gatefold card is a card blank which has two sides which meet in the middle, like a gate. You can take your gatefold designs to the next level by adding decorative elements, die-cutting into the two panels or finding unique ways to close the card, such as this interlocking effect. You can also create a narrow band to hold your gatefold card closed, which is a continuous cardstock border - this is often seen on handmade invitations.

This technique of creating interlocking toppers and frames can be achieved with a range of shapes and intricate dies, as long as you are able to align the side of the card front using Jennifer's handy hints and tips. This video had three fantastic examples of interlocking gatefold designs, try experimenting with shapes from your die stash to see what you can come up with!
