Hi Cricut Crafters! Today I would like to go back to basics for those of you who have recently started on your Cricut journey! We are going to be looking at how you can add your own images into the Cricut Design Space, for a truly personalised project!

Here is a complete beginners guide to using Cricut Design Space

Follow this step-by-step video tutorial for uploading your own images

To start, click the cloud shaped upload button, and then upload image.

  1. Browse your computer or device for the image you would like to upload and select it. You can upload PNG, JPG, SVG,DXF, GIF and BMP file types.

2. Choose complex from the list of options then click continue.

3. This will bring up a screen that will allow you to clean up your image, If your image has a background you need to remove that. You can do this using the wand or eraser tools.

For more advanced multicoloured images, you can use the advanced settings to get a cleaner line.

4. Once you are happy with your image continue to the next screen. Here you can choose to save your image as either a print then cut image (for use with the Print then cut feature on the Explore and Maker) or as a cut image.

You can change the title of the image here and add tags too before saving.

The image will now live in your uploaded images section and be searchable within the image library in Design Space.

You can now add the image to the canvas and use it in your projects.

I would love to see your Cricut projects in the CraftWorld Inspiration gallery! When uploading these, don't forget to tag Cricut and myself so that I can easily find them!
