How to add criss-cross tassels to your scarf
Once the scarf has been blocked, cut eighty 50cm lengths of yarn and group as follows: Four sets of 2 threads and Eighteen sets of 4 threads.
Insert hook at corner of scarf and work as follows: Yo with the middle of one set of 2 threads and pull through stitch. Pull ends through loop and tighten to fabric. Repeat on opposite corner of same end of scarf.
Using the same technique, attach nine sets of 4 threads at equal distances along width of scarf (approx. every 3cm)
Beginning at one end work across width of scarf, tying 4 threads from one tassel to 4 threads from next tassel approx. 2.5cm below to form ten knots.
Repeat approx 2.5cm below to form nine more knots, missing the first and last set of 4 threads.
Trim tassels to an even length and repeat on other end of scarf with remaining lengths of yarn.
