Happy birthday- colourful crystal die-cut butterfly

1

Shake the Distress Oxide sprays, then decant small amounts of each colour onto your glass mat (or into a palette) then use a wide flat brush to create a wash background.

2

Try not to dilute the sprays with water as we want them to oxidise later, and work in rainbow order so we get intermediate colours to give a full rainbow.

3

Once the background is dry, take the stencil and spray it heavily with water, carefully flip the stencil over and place it water side down onto the oxide spray background. Press into place with kitchen roll, then peel off the stencil, the water will oxidise the sprays and give a ghost impression of the negative of the stencil.

4

Once dry, die-cut the ‘Happy’ sentiment from white, then die-cut the panel with a stitched square die.

5

Die-cut the geo butterfly from the top third of the square panel, then carefully add double-sided adhesive to the reverse of the cut area.

6

Carefully pull off the die, making sure to press all the negative pieces into the adhesive, remove the actual die-cut, then add sparkle dust to the exposed adhesive.

7

Add a heat-embossed sub sentiment, further details with a white gel pen and a scattering of gems too.
