The Great British Sewing Bee is back on TV! The show returns to our screens on Wednesday 27th April 2022 at 8pm on BBC One.

Sara Pascoe, Patrick Grant and Esme Young welcome 12 of Britain’s most talented home sewists into the sewing room, which is in an historic woollen mill on the outskirts of Leeds.

The first episode sees judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young ask the sewists to create a capsule wardrobe consisting of three items.

In the Pattern Challenge, the contestents are challenged to stitch a wool mini skirt with piped patch pockets.

Next up, it's the Transformation Challenge, where our intrepid sewists must turn lockdown loungewear into a going-out top for an adult.

Finally in the Made to Measure, the task is to perfectly fit a wrap dress to a model. This is often the trickiest task so it'll be interesting to watch. If you want to get one step ahead of the sewists, I wholeheartedly recommend our Lena Wrap Dress pattern - it's super-versatile and easy to fit.

One sewer gets off to a flying start, being awarded Garment of the Week, while another’s hopes are dashed as they become the first to be sent home. But who will it be! You'll have to tune in to find out.
