The Final Challenges

We're down to the final four and it's time for a party! In the grand finale of the Great British Sewing Bee Series 8, the sewists will take on three tough challenges designed to stretch them to their limits - much like a good old game of Twister! Now, the question is - if it's a party special, will there be jelly and ice cream?

There's no time to dally as the first challenge is a real head-scratcher. The sewists take on one of EsmeYoung's own designs - the Amorphous Dress, originally designed for her Swanky Modes collection. It's a real puzzle, made from just one piece of lycra which must be carefully cut and manipulated to create a form-fitting sheath dress. This design is so iconic it forms part of the V&A's collection! You can read all about it here.

Next up it's the transformation challenge and they might be feeling a bit of a hangover as all their past decisions come back to haunt them! The Bees must take their scraps and offcuts from all the previous episodes to create a swanky party outfit.

And finally - it's the big one - the Made to Measure challenge! The sewists are tasked with creating a red-carpet-worthy jumpsuit - notoriously one of the trickiest styles to fit to the body. If that isn't already hard enough, the brief also challengese them to use sparkles and luxury fabrics, so we're sure to see some show-stoppers this week!

After all that, it's finally time to decide - who is Britain's best amateur sewist?
