The Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays are such a fun addition to your crafty stash! They can be a little messy, but in this masterclass I run through a selection of techniques that showcase a few less messy options too.

The sprays are acrylic based rather than water based, so you want to try and contain any overspray as much as you can, because it’s pretty permanent once it’s dry, so not quite such an easy clean up as water-based sprays. It also almost acts like an adhesive between substrates, so be wary of where you leave your projects to dry, try and leave them on a slick surface like your glass mat or a plastic die-cutting plate so you can easily peel it off when it’s dry.

Christine Smith is eager to showcase the various ways to use the sprays - and we just love her results!

The obvious way to use a spray is to spray it onto cardstock, and these sprays actually create a really cool nebula effect when you add lots of spray and different colours on top of one another. Dina demos this fantastic technique lots along with many others too, so I didn’t show that in this masterclass, but tried to show a few ideas that you might not have seen.In the past I’ve used the sprays on my Gelli plate and achieved a range of fabulous results, but I know not everyone has one, so for my advanced step-by-step project I show how you can achieve a cool effect just with a piece of acetate. I also experiment with mixing the Gloss Sprays into clear texture paste (imagine that with sparkly texture paste too!) and got great results using the white spray as a resist too!

You can achieve various effects with the sprays - it's all about experimenting!

Sprays really are a versatile addition to your stash, and the unique qualities of the Gloss Sprays are so inspiring – you can instantly experiment and try to find unique techniques to use with them. I’m sure you’ll think up many more ways to apply these fab sprays to your crafting, whether that’s your cardmaking, or art journaling or even home décor too, they work for so many applications.
