1

Create two galaxy backgrounds.

2

Die-cut both backgrounds into hexagons using the large die, then die-cut a star aperture into one of them using a small die. Die-cut a selection of white stars too.

3

Cover the galaxy panels using an anti-static tool then heat-emboss the sentiments in white as shown. Leave ‘stars’ to fit onto the die-cut star.

4

Place the hexagon die onto a white square card blank with one cutting edge hanging over the fold of the card blank then die-cut. Score the card front in half from point to point parallel to the fold.

5

Apply adhesive to the folded section of the card front and attach the focal panel. Add the remaining panel to the card base. Use a mix of die-cut stars to create the stopper as shown.

6

Decorate using confetti along with Nuvo Crystal Drops then add faux stitching using a white gel pen to finish.

7

Create a galaxy background using Distress Oxide Ink. Select purple, pink and blue shades of Distress Ink to create the initial layer for the background.

8

Squash each inkpad onto a glass mat, add water and use as a paint to create a galaxy background. Use a paintbrush to apply the colour in bands, for lighter and dark channels.

9

Once the first layer is dry, use an ink-blending tool to apply deep blue Distress Oxide Ink and Black Soot Distress Ink. Apply more ink in some areas for a darker look as shown.

10

Tap a little water using a small brush and leave to dry. Repeat using Nuvo Aqua Shimmer for added sparkle and leave to dry.

11

For more prominent stars, flick watered-down white gesso onto the panel as shown. Leave to dry for 48 hours so the heat-embossing process will give a crisp finish.
