Sewing up a bag or tote is really rewarding as it's a quick make and you can use up your fabric stash. You'll be out and about enjoying your new bag in just a few hours.

This mini tote bag is free to download from Craftsy - it just takes 2 fat quarters of fabric to make. It would be a perfect gift for a little girl or tween and we love the embroidered birdie!

A slouch hobo bag is perfect for taking on a shopping trip or to the beach and you can make one to coordinate with every outfit. the free hobo bag pattern is on the super useful Patternpile website.

This bag pattern is called the Trail tote and is free to download HERE- it's a comfortable across the body design and has a useful little zip pocket on the outside. A little more detail than a simple tote or shopper but well worth the effort.

Reversible bags are great fun and they make a bag really fun if you use contrasting fabrics. We found this great free tutorial over on the blog Very Purple Person We'd love to see any bag patterns you have used and your finished bags - leave a comment or share on our Facebook wall
