Join me for a spring-inspired craft-along where I show you how to make the most of your nesting dies to create frames to add fun and dimension to your card designs!

Using only a few sets from my stash, I create two card samples which show you completely different ways to frame your projects. If you're a fan of clean and simple crafting then the first card will be to your taste, and for the second I show you how to create depth of colour using ombré glitter card.

Use the Butterfly stamp and die set to create a card stencil to use to create a background, I've used the Moonlight Petal inks and blending brushes to achieve a subtle background. These brushes are so soft and easy to use - perfect for applying the ink gradually!

Top tip!

Use your nesting dies to gauge the space between the inner and outer dies, secure with low-tack tape and then remove the middle dies for an evenly spaced frame.

The Deco Butterflies set has a built in frame without a cutting edge, making it perfect to create apertures on your projects - if you want to create a topper then simply use a rectangular die around the outside. In this card

Top tip!

When creating the backing for the frame, cut a larger frame around the outside using your nesting dies to be used later. This will give the illusion that the card blank is made from glitter card where it's just a narrow matt! Then use the excess scraps of cardstock to cut out smaller butterflies - no waste!

I hope you have enjoyed this masterclass of framing techniques and will have a go at using some of the ideas shown in your designs!
