Door hanger- personalised kids project

1

Mix the Treasure and white acrylic paint together to create the desired colour tone. Paint both sides of the door hanger and allow to dry thoroughly.

2

Connect the die-cutting machine to the PC and log on to your Design Space account. Open a new project. Add text boxes for baby’s name, ‘room’, ‘sshhhh!’, ‘baby’ and ‘sleeping’. Select appropriate fonts – Robotz and Fontastic Fonts were used here. Resize the text as required.

3

Duplicate the name and room three times and alter the colour so that they will load on a different cutting mat.

4

Search for and select a lamb image in the image library.

5

Follow the on-screen prompts to cut the images from the required resources, adjusting the material setting and blade type (for the Maker) accordingly, for the name use glitter card, cut ‘room’ from grey cardstock, cut ‘sshhhh! Baby’s sleeping’ in silver vinyl, for the lamb use white and grey felt (must be stabilised to cut using an Explore machine) and for the lamb’s bow use glitter iron-on vinyl.

6

Carefully remove the images from the cutting mat using the spatula, slowly bending the mat away from the images or vinyls.

7

Use the BrightPad and weeding tool to remove the unwanted vinyl and iron-on vinyl.

8

Use transfer tape, following the packaging instructions, to position ‘sshhhh! Baby’s sleeping’ on one side of the painted door hanger.

9

Use fabric/felt glue to glue the lamb layers together. Apply the bow to the lamb’s neck using the EasyPress (or household iron and press cloth), following the heat temperature and duration settings detailed in the Easy Press guide from Step 8 of the sleepsuit.

10

Attach the lamb to the door hanger using hot glue.

11

Glue the name and room layers together using PVA glue. Use hot glue to attach them to the other side of the door hanger.
