In this series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

For part 9 of the series, I have combined colours which you would not normally think to put together - Pumice Stone, Spun Sugar and Scattered Straw Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. As you know, each week I try to bring you a new technique as well as a colour combination - today is all about delicate heat embossing using one of my favourite stamps from my TEXT{ures} range.

Like most of the videos in this series, I have blended the colours onto medium weight white cardstock, using blending brushes in a circular motion. I've then added water to the blended background to create a mottled effect, it's also a great way to hide any imperfections. I've used a heat tool to dry the cardstock, make sure it is 100% dry before proceeding with heat-embossing or it could affect how well this process works. I've finished this design with a bold black card blank, co-ordinating sentiment, a vellum topper and statement pink gems!

I hope you have enjoyed the latest addition to the series, please share your versions of each combination if you have a go!

Happy inking,

Lou
