In this series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

For part 8 of the series, I have combined three cool tones - Salty Ocean, Twisted Citron and Salvaged Patina Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. As you know, each week I try to bring you a new technique as well as a colour combination - today is all about creating a faded look with your stencils. This process involves using a baby wipe to lift some of the colour you have blended onto a surface of your choice.

As you can see in the video, I have blended each colour in a circular motion, choosing at random where to make them meet. Go back in if you want to highlight any particular colours, making sure to blend well to avoid harsh lines. Once you're happy, place your stencil onto the background and carefully brush in one direction to lift the colour.

I've finished my design with a big focal sentiment, and contrasting foliage to create a wreath. I like to keep it simple with enamel dots - you can add as much bling as you'd like!

I hope you have enjoyed the latest addition to the series, please share your versions of each combination if you have a go!

Happy inking,

Lou
