Distress Ink Colour Combinations: Part 7

In this new series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

Are you enjoying the series so far? This week, I'm combining three Distress Ink colours - Picked Raspberry. Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade with Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink. You can mix both types of ink, they just have a different texture and vibrancy. This tutorial looks at creating narrow strips of colour over the top of a stamped image. I like to stamp the image first for reference but to create the blend and re-stamp on top so you don't run the risk of masking tape tearing your beautifully inked panel.

Once dry, sprinkle with water, leave to set and remove to create bleached texture. Then, chop the blended piece into three pieces and work with the card front to reposition the design where you want it. I have added a sentiment, and accent details for the cherry on top! This can be done in so many different ways, experiment with colour, with the direction and number of strips and stamp to create your own version of this idea!

I hope you have enjoyed the latest addition to the series, please share your versions of each combination if you have a go!

Happy inking,

Lou
