Distress Ink Colour Combinations: Part 5

In this new series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

For part five of the series, I'm working with four darker colours to create a card design with a masculine feel. As I always say, you can't go wrong combining brown and blue, and the extra colours used here help to balance the cool and warm tones. The key for this design is to blend solid colours of each tone, then cut the strips and combine on the card front in a stripe formation. It's a skill in itself to get a solid blend, so play about with a cardstock that you feel comfortable with.

This week's colours are:

Once you have die-cut and reformed your strips into a background you're happy with, add extra texture by sewing along some of the lines using your sewing machine! I'm so happy with the way this has turned out, it's super minimal and packs a punch.

I hope you have enjoyed the latest addition to the series, please share your versions of each combination if you have a go!

Happy inking,

Lou
