In this new series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

For part three in this series, I have used my Distress Ink Swatch Chart to select Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Wild Honey and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. It's handy to lay your colours out in the order you plan to use them. And when inking, start at the edges with your brushes and work inwardly. Because the red is so strong, I decided to lighten as I work down the panel, you can also get a feel for the balance of each section as you go. Darken the edges of the card with Black Soot for depth. As with some of the other examples, I have sprinkled with water and lifted some of the colour for a bleached effect. And this statement Sue Wilson die is the perfect statement focal point to finish the design!
