Distress Ink Colour Combinations: Part 2
In this new series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!
For part two of the series, I have selected Old Paper, Black Soot and and Evergreen Bough Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink - do you have these inks in your stash?
You may think it's odd that I've brought black ink into the mix, but it's perfect for making other colours darker! This also works really well to create a dramatic background for my die-cut silhouette on top. Another top tip I share, working from the centre with the focal colour - then draw the focal colour to each edge making them more pale. In turn, I then blend Old Paper into the top third to create a new colour, and repeat below using Black Soot to ground the piece. Flick water onto the background, allow it to sit and pat dry using a paper towel to achieve a resist effect.
I have chosen to keep my card simple by mounting the onto a white base with a wide border, finished with a heat-embossed sentiment and bold silhouette!
