In this series we will be teaching you everything you need to know about Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink. Learn which colours work well together and boost your blending skills to create unique designer backgrounds with ease!

For part 10 of the series, I have combined three of my favourite Oxide colours - Wild Honey, Spun Sugar and Evergreen Bough Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. As you know, each week I try to bring you a new technique as well as a colour combination - today is all about the Bokeh effect! This process involves the application of inks in circular motions, then adding defined white circle details to mimic the aesthetic quality of the blur produced in out-of-focus parts of an image.

‌I didn't feel that this card needed a lot of flourish aside from the sentiment, the background packs such a punch that it should be the star of the show! Using white to accent brings out the pastel Bokeh effect whilst helping the design to stay soft - you could try black or die-cut both to create a shadow effect to really make the word LOVE stand out!

I hope you have enjoyed the latest addition to the series, please share your versions of each combination if you have a go!

Happy inking,

Lou‌
