Die-cutting Essentials 119 - on sale 8th August
Welcome to another inspirational issue of Die-cutting Essentials – our 10th
birthday special! I can’t quite believe that it’s 10 years since we launched this
very magazine when die-cutting became a huge part of papercraft back in 2014.
We’ve brought you the very best dies and die-cutting techniques and brands since then,
and we take a look back at the history of DCE on page 42. To celebrate this milestone
occasion, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Hunkydory to bring you this issue’s
Festive Gnomes die set. I just know you’re going to have great fun using it, and you can
see ideas on pages 8, 44 & 70.
We have plenty of die-cutting techniques for you to try this month, starting with a
guide to eclipse die-cutting on page 16. Learn how to create shadow effects with your
die-cuts on page 26, and shaped edge cards are the focus on page 34. You won’t want
to miss the easy hinged die-cut cards on page 64 – I can’t wait to try these!
As usual, we’re showcasing the latest products from your favourite die-cutting brands,
including Sue Wilson (page 12), Chloe’s Creative Cards (page 28), Altenew (page 38),
Lisa Horton (page 48), Time For Tea Designs (page 60), Sentimentally Yours (page
74), and Lawn Fawn (page 77).
Once again we were inundated with entries for our popular Cardmaker of the Year
competition, and judging them was not a simple task! We’re pleased to announce the
talented winners on page 22 – well done, and thank you to everyone who entered.
