Things are starting to feel very festive here at Crochet Now! We’re happy to be wrapped up in our chunky jumpers and crochet beanies, dreaming of snowy days spent making gifts for our friends and families. Whilst we all love a traditional Christmas colour palette, think classic
red and green décor and gold stars atop the tree, we couldn’t say no to a bright and bold issue. There’s plenty of warming makes this month, sure to fill your festive season with inspiration, creativity and just a touch of pink…

Our cover garment this month, Lauren Willis’s Gingerbread Army sweater (page 14), is taking the top spot for the best Christmas jumper we’ve seen this year. Made in bright pink yarn and featuring adorable gingerbread motifs, we think this is a real winner for Christmas Jumper Day at the office. We’ve also got the Candy Stripes cowl (page 56); a cosy, all-essential accessory for the season that can be made in any colours you wish.

Blankets are always a must-make at this time of year, and there are two gorgeous throws to choose from this month! Our super-sweet Festive Treats blanket (page 20) showcases a few of our favourite wintry motifs to test your skills. Or why not try the Christmas Wonderland blanket (page 36), made in an on-trend colour palette that’ll really stand out in any home. And if you want even more bright and bold makes this year, the Bright Bauble cushion (page 60) is a super-squishy project that’ll look extra cute on your sofa.

We love making amigurumi all year round, but there’s something about wintry toys that feels extra special. This issue, we’ve got the amazing Sugarplum Beary (page 66)! She’s an adorable little ballerina bear that’s here to bring you a touch of festive cheer. Oh, and not forgetting our exclusive Shaun the Sheep toy (page 30) from Melissa Watson; he’s also decked out ready to celebrate the big day!
