I’m always so grateful to be a crocheter when the weather is lovely and sunny! Depending on your chosen project, it’s travel-friendly, light, and easy to pick up and put down. We love a good cotton and cotton-blend with our crochet too so there aren’t any overly warm legs by the pool when crocheting with a cocktail in hand. Ok, when we’re holding our crochet while we sip our cocktail! We’re clearly dreaming of our summer holidays here and to get us in the mood we’ve brought together a delightful collection of romantic vacation makes for you to get your hooks into.

I can’t not begin with my absolute favourite project I think I have ever commissioned for Crochet Now – Audrey and her pooch, Bruno (page 42)! Our designer Pia took such care over all the details, down to the spare tyre and stylish neckerchief, and she just looks the part this month. The Colosseum Blanket (page 26) is inspired by the iconic arches and architecture of one of the wonders of the world, and Mosaic crochet really does this Roman staple proud. For something a little more delicate for the home, Alice’s Beaded Blossom Cushion (page 48) will look absolutely charming in the sunshine in your home.

Crocheting for the summer also means hooking up your next holiday wardrobe staple, and the Trevi Shells Vest (page 30) is just the ticket you need to complete your Italian-chic look. For the artistic crocheters, the Starry Night Shawl (page 62) balances style with an interesting make, while the Piazza Cowl (page 71) is just the right amount of repetition to be a quick, satisfying project!
