It’s Christmas! Oh, this is my absolute favourite time of year – as soon as I could crank the Christmas playlist up on Spotify I did (much to my husband’s annoyance) and I’ve grabbed my crochet hook and started this year’s new Christmas decorations ready for the holidays. My favourite part of being editor is how early (and how long) I get to celebrate Christmas for, and this issue has been an absolute dream to work on with the designers on to bring together!
I love a colourful Christmas, and as you turn the pages of this month’s issue I do hope you fall in love with the merry and bright collection of accessories, toys and more that you can start hooking tonight. My new favourite sweater has to be Katie Jones’ Pompom Confetti Jumper (page 22) that is simply cheerful, and wonderfully colourful accessories such as the Good Vibes Scarf (page 14) and Rainbow Streamers Scarf (page 48) are perfect for injecting some colour into your winter wardrobe.
I’ve been itching to start Sharon Carter’s Gingerbread House Blanket (page 62) and Catherine Tait’s Starburst Blanket (page 16) since I commissioned them – they are the perfect festive additions to any home this Christmas. If you want to go a little more fun with your décor though, why not hook up a pair of giant bauble cushions (page 80) or even a Merry and Bright Wreath (page 34)? There is so much Christmassy goodness to choose from this issue, it’s difficult to know where to begin.
You can never have too many crochet hooks, in my opinion, and this month’s fabulous hook from Pusheen is the perfect addition to your hook collection, along with a sweet matching stitch marker.
