Crochet Now 45 - On sale Thursday!
My goodness, have we really reached August already?
I don't know about you but I can't quite believe just how quickly this year has flown by, to bring us into the height of summer. But we haven't reached the end just yet, and there is still time to squeeze in a last-minute sunny holiday or weekend city break, which brings me to the inspiration for this month's collection!
The French Riviera always evokes sophistication, chic fashion, glamorous views and hints of nautical blues with deep reds. With that in mind, the designers in this issue have brought together a beautiful collection of patterns that will set you up for summer, and even prepare you for the return of autumn!
A show-stealer this month has to be Cassie Ward's La Riviera Cropped Cardigan that uses Tunisian crochet to create a great layering piece. I'm also excited to have a flowing, summer cotton top that can be dressed up with heels, or as a casual swimwear cover-up.
It's not all garments this month though, we've got some terrific blankets, from a colourful number through to a classic chevron design, along with toys, must-have accessories and classic homewares.
Of course, we have a collection of awesome reads too! Don't miss the next installment in our crochet refashion series, and I'm excited to welcome Sarah-Jayne from Bella Coco (yes, the name behind your brand-new hook!) to the Crochet Now team with the launch of her new column.
Do you recognise this mischievous pair from the iconic Beano? Dennis and Gnasher have been icons for kids and adults for over 80 years, and now you can crochet your very own duo with Alison Holloway's brilliant pattern! She has captured their likeness and character so well - isn't it amazing what you can achieve with a hook and some yarn?
