Colour, texture and patterns, patterns, patterns are what we are all about this month here at Crochet Now HQ. I love putting together these bumper pattern packs for you lovely readers
because it really gives me and the Design Team a chance to let our creativity run wild, even more so than usual! I know how important it is to you that we provide not only the best variety of patterns when you choose us, but the best quality too!

This issue, we have really focused on bright colours and mixing textures, whether it be through different yarn combinations (such as the cowl on page 68), playing with stitches (nothing quite beats a mandala for this, page 50) or trying new techniques altogether (have you given cross stitch on crochet a go? Take a look at page 76). I think my favourite project this month is the Patch Perfect blanket (page 52) because it really gives you a chance to try all of those different textures and combinations – plus, a great excuse for another blanket I say.

Speaking of mixing and matching, The Pocket Book of Adorable Animals lets you get imaginative with toy accessories and designs to create something truly unique for yourself or as a gift. Give me a red panda with a birthday hat any day! For those more inclined to make garments and accessories, I hope you will enjoy kick-starting your summer crochet with Stylecraft, with your second exclusive pattern book. Associate Editor Gemma has done a wonderful job pulling this together along with the experts over at one of our favourite yarn and pattern companies. Which reminds me – don’t forget to check out who has won big with this year’s Yarn Awards on page 40!

Finally, I hope you will fall in love as much as I have with our absolutely adorably cute Shaun the Sheep and friends amigurumi over on page 14 – those eyes! Don’t you just love something whimsical?
Merry making!
