A giant entirely knitted village fete with a difference goes on display at ICHF Events’ Creative Craft Show, returning to Glasgow’s SEC Centre from Thursday 14th – Sunday 17thOctober. Created by Nudinits, the quirky knitted inhabitants of Woolly Bush are entirely naked with plenty of double entendre, bringing much-needed laughter to visitors.

With incredible detail, the feature includes all the fun of the village fete including a beer tent, stalls selling jam and cheese, BBQ food, a dog show, vegetable competition, coconut shy and a vintage car – as well as the characters themselves, all knitted by hand.  Visitors to the Creative Craft Show can take a seat to admire the skill and join in the fun by knitting bunting to help decorate the village scene. Nudinits have proved hugely popular among knitters and are the stars of an award-winning series of stunning animated films. Their creator, Sarah Simi, will also be at the show to launch a new Nudinits book, featuring knitting patterns for the characters and all manner of village fete fun.

“We are so pleased that the Nudinits Village Fete is baring all at our Glasgow show! The attention to detail and knitting skill in the village fete is amazing and we hope it will bring a giggle to visitors. It is fantastic that our show can return to Glasgow following such a long period of lockdown for us all. We know that our loyal visitors are keen to return to a live show and that lockdown has inspired many people to get creative with crafts – this show has something for everyone.”

Simon Burns, managing director, ICHF Events

Visitors to the Creative Craft Show can also dive in to knitting, sewing, felting, papercraft, calligraphy, stained glass and jewellery making plus update their supplies stash with the latest products and creations from the world of creative craft. Inspiration, ideas and tips from experts are also available with a range of workshops and demonstrations.

Aiming to inspire beginners, enthusiasts and professionals to continue to develop their calligraphy skills, the Modern Calligraphy Company has demonstrations, hints, tips and workshops plus the chance to stock up on kits and tools.  Needlecraft experts Bex Craven and Tina Francis will inspire visitors with their own styles and techniques demonstrating how they create unique pieces incorporating felting, fabric dyeing, tapestry and needlepoint. Upcycled bookbinding workshops with Cassandra Barron will show visitors how to transform remnant materials into unique and usable books.

To ensure visitor safety at the show, aisles will be wider to accommodate social distancing and floor markings and clear signage will be used throughout the show. Those attending workshops can sit at individual tables with pre-packaged craft kits to minimise contact where possible.
