Brightly Coloured Fun Hand Drum

Search for and locate the project from the Make It Now ‘Easter’ project list. ‘Customise’ to alter the size of the project: it  makes a drum measuring 9”x3¾”.

Cut and score the drum from metallic poster board. Cut the embellishments from patterned paper.

Carefully fold then glue each side of the drum using the hot-glue gun. Stack 3D foam pads inside one side of the drum to stabilise it.

Slide the straw over the dowel. Hot-glue the dowel to the central 3D foam pad stack and the side notch.

Thread the beads onto twine, hold them in place by tying knots at the twine end. Glue the centre of the twine to the inside centre of the drum and out to either side.

Hot-glue the two drum sides together. Cover the join with Washi tape. Glue the decorative paper pieces on to either side of the drum.
